The original Alfa Romeo logo was designed by Romano Cattaneo, who adopted two heraldic symbols in one badge. The logo was composed of a boldly outlined circle, vertically divided into two parts — the left one in white with a Red Cross on it, and the right one, where the green snake was placed on a light blue background.The circular framing of the logo featured a dark blue color and the lettering, placed around its perimeter, was executed in light silver, with vignettes in the same color, separating two parts of the wordmark.

A silver wreath has appeared on the logo, which wraps around the edge. The snake and the man sticking out of its mouth have also been corrected. And the background is darker.

The developers enlarged the leaves on the wreath. The texture of the elements has also changed: although the pattern has become visually very rough, the unexpectedly fine black strokes and jagged lines are impressive.

In 1947, the logo underwent a major change: in this version, the logo became a combination of red and yellow. Plus a thin gold border. The base color used was also red. But the logo remained in place for only one year.

In 1948, the designer returned the badge to its original concept and color palette, with the difference that the words of the badge dealer were gapped and no longer next to each other. And the man in the snake's mouth was changed from gold to red. The lettering around the border is also very clear.

Between 1950 and 1972, the bezel changed back to silver and the big snake went from green to black and was enlarged quite a bit." The word "Milano" was removed. The words within the border became smaller and more compact.

Between 1972-2015, the border was changed from silver to gold, and on top of that, a red line was added to the center of the crown. And the background was turned into a gradient color for a softer visual look.

From 2015 onwards, all the gold color in the emblem became silver, including the person and the crown, with the difference that the crown became smaller, with but the elements used did not change.
